According to 247Sports, Jackson was ranked as the No. 2 cornerback and the No. 15 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

The sophomore made appearances in eighteen games, totaling four pass deflections and 35 tackles.

Jackson passed on Michigan in favor of the Crimson Tide. He went to practice with Alabama on Thursday before the Rose Bowl.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Jackson, who is 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, will add some experience to an

Alabama secondary that may lose up to four starters to the NFL Draft this spring. Jackson suffered with a USC

defense that has struggled in general over the past several years, but he is a highly-touted prospect who can become a

successful member of the school with the guidance of Nick Saban and position coach Travaris Robinson. It’s

interesting to note that Jackson chose Alabama over Michigan, the team Alabama will play in the Rose Bowl in a few days.

As the second transfer portal commit of this cycle, Jackson joins defensive lineman LT Overton (Texas A&M), and

both highlight the new era of recruiting. During their high school recruitment, both prospects—five-stars at their

position out of high school—made other commitments instead of Alabama. Each has an opportunity to make a

significant contribution in 2024, and Alabama kept the relationship intact and added both when they transferred

from their respective institutions.
