NFL QB Index, Week 17: Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes fall short….

At last, they succeeded. In 2023, the Dolphins overcame a formidable club. Not because of the stats exactly, but more

because of the performance, Miami had a great one. Even though NFL’s most dynamic offense struggled to finish

drives in the end zone against a Dallas defense that was more than capable of handling the pressure, Tagovailoa

ended with a strong statistical day. But Tagovailoa’s handling of the two-minute drill at the end of the first half left

me very impressed. He peppered Dallas below to move the offense effectively and give Raheem Mostert enough time

without effort. While he didn’t score many points, Prescott avoided making costly errors and kept the Cowboys in the

game long enough for them to have a chance late in the fourth quarter. Miami tried to emulate Buffalo by trying to

remove CeeDee Lamb from the game. The quarterback’s passing prowess was evident in that instance, which was

only made possible by Prescott’s obstinate connection with Lamb in the midst of the late-game turmoil. Prescott

neatly dropped a dime under pressure over two defenders to Brandin Cooks for the game-winning score after taking

a sack on first-and-goal. He had done enough at that point to prevail on
