Bill Belichick’s tenure as the Patriots’ head coach has ended after 24 seasons. Although there have been discussions
over the last three days, Belichick and New England were unable to come to a consensus, according to an early
Thursday morning report from NFL Network.

Now, all eyes will be on Belichick’s next action. The Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Atlanta
Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans are the other seven teams
with open coaching positions.
In this week’s talks, Belichick and owner Robert Kraft reportedly “took the high road,” according to an ESPN source.
ESPN said that there was “no disagreement, no conflict.” On Thursday at 12 p.m. ET, Belichick and Kraft will
conduct a press conference.

With one year remaining on his deal, Belichick, 71, will be free to leave the team without the Patriots pursuing
payment.
During his more than two decades in New England, Belichick won six Super Bowls. Following Tom Brady’s departure
in 2020, the 4-13 Patriots had missed the playoffs three times in the last four years in 2023. In addition, it was
Belichick’s worst season ever; he currently has a 302-165 record.
For the first time in almost 25 years, the Patriots will now start their hunt for a new head coach.
