The Las Vegas Raiders are all about winning culture and continuity. They must appoint a new head coach before they can
proceed with that. Of all the players on the roster, Antonio Pierce appears to be the overwhelming favorite. With him,
they experienced something of a late-season surge that infuriated players like Maxx Crosby. Both the new coach and
Champ Kelly’s replacement are about to be revealed.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “A decision on the Raiders’ next general manager
and head coach could come within the next 48 hours, NFL sources indicated Tuesday,” the team will likely make a
major announcement within the next two days.

Intriguingly, Bonsignore observed that Pierce appeared to be a lock for the position: “The Raiders interviewed Pierce
on Monday and wrapped up interviews with Frazier and Richard on Tuesday in regards to coaching.” They appear to
have contacted teams to request permission to speak with current NFL coaches, but those are the only candidates
they have interviewed. That indicates unequivocally that Pierce will be their long-term coach.
Names like Antonio Pierce, Minnesota Vikings’ Leslie Fraizer, and former player and former New Orleans Saints
assistant Kris Richard were among those the team interviewed. The majority of these contenders have one striking
thing in common.
Their resumes all make clear that the Raiders are searching for a defensive-minded player to strengthen their roster.
Numerous well-known candidates are vying to become the next general manager of the Raiders, replacing Champ
Kelly. The entire list of players who were interviewed included Trey Brown of the Cincinnati Bengals, Tom Telesco of
the Los Angeles Chargers, Terrence Gray of the Buffalo Bills, and Kelly Kleine Van Calligan of the Denver Broncos.
For Maxx Crosby and the Raiders, 48 hours can’t come soon enough if the NFL rumors are accurate.
