Despite the Dallas Cowboys’ disastrous performance against the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the playoffs,
owner Jerry Jones declared on Wednesday that Mike McCarthy will stay for a fifth season as head coach. Fans of the
Cowboys at SB Nation’s Blogging The Boys are not pleased with this.

Just 8% of participants in a BTB poll indicated they were “excited” to hear that McCarthy would be staying so far.
Contrary to popular belief, Jones, the Cowboys’ omnipresent owner, is shown himself to be a more patient head
coach. The Cowboys made just three playoff appearances and won two playoff games during the ten seasons he
retained Jason Garrett as head coach (nine full seasons and a half-season as an interim).
With Dallas, McCarthy had a 42-25 record in regular season play, with three consecutive 12-5 seasons and two NFC
East championships. However, Dallas has only won one postseason game throughout that period. In actuality, the
Cowboys became the first team in the Super Bowl era to win 12 games in three straight seasons without making it to
the conference finals.

In a statement issued by the squad, Jones stated, “I think this team is very close and capable of achieving our
ultimate goals and the best step forward for us will be with Mike McCarthy as our head coach.” “Maintaining the
team’s development with Mike as our head coach has many advantages.”
Jones stated in a statement released on Wednesday, “Our loss on Sunday is shared by everyone here, not just Coach
McCarthy.” “Our athletes. Our mentors. our main reception area. By myself. Accountability exists for our outcomes. I
take responsibility for our outcomes. We examine and assess Coach McCarthy via a comprehensive viewpoint.
Even though our playoff record and the outcome on Sunday disappointed us all, I fully support him in his role as our
head coach and our capacity to accomplish our objectives.
