When Harbaugh spoke to the assembly during the 51st March for Life, he introduced Benjamin Watson, a former

tight end for the New England Patriots. The event was held in Washington, D.C.

When Harbaugh led the Michigan Wolverines football team to Rome, he showed no concealment of his strong

Catholic beliefs. According to ESPN, he presented presents and Michigan Wolverines apparel to Pope Francis after

meeting him at the Vatican. Speaking warmly of the encounter, Harbaugh did so in the ESPN report.

In 247 Sports recruiting classes, the Michigan Wolverines have only once placed in the top five since 2017. The

Wolverines have just twice finished in the top 10 since 2020.

Although Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines have done a good job at recruiting, their talent pool is by no

means overwhelming. Recruiting is influenced by several elements, and the coach’s personality is undoubtedly one of

them. One of the most divisive subjects nowadays is abortion. A Gallup poll conducted among adults between the

ages of 18 and 29 found that over half believed that abortion should be permitted in all situations.

This implies that, if a coach’s stance on the subject would be a deal-breaker, Harbaugh may be alienating a sizable

segment of his recruiting base by taking a strong stance on it.

It should come as no surprise that opinions on Harbaugh’s appearance at the March for Life demonstration are

divided among college football fans. There must be some prospective college football players who share the strong

opinions of college football fans on the matter.
