Junior Day celebrations were kicked off early by Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks in December, and they had a
second event last Saturday. Before the dead period starts on February 5, the Hogs will host at least one more
prospect on Saturday. More prospects are returning to campus today.
Today is not like other junior days in Arkansas since the Razorback men’s basketball team is playing South Carolina
at noon, and the recruits were almost ready to leave for Bud Walton Arena at 11 a.m. A few Hog pledges and a
handful of 2025 and 2026 goals lead the group. Class of 2025 kicker Evan Noel of Bay St. Louis (Miss.) St.
Stanislaus, class of 2025 quarterback Grayson Wilson of Maumelle, Ark., Central Arkansas Christian, and 2026
safety promise Tay Lockett of Bellflower, Calif. are among the Arkansas commits.
Is the 2024 Arkansas football roster superior to the 2023 squad? The simplest method to examine this is to take the
2023 Week 1 depth chart and compare it position-by-position with the current predicted depth chart for the
upcoming season before playing Western Carolina.

There is still more work for the Razorbacks to accomplish on the transfer portal. It’s estimated that the Hogs
currently have 83 scholarship players, and after spring exercises, at least a little more attrition is anticipated. It is
imperative that the Razorbacks add another defensive tackle, linebacker, and offensive lineman. In this new,
competitive world of college football, the coaching staff must make some difficult choices if there are chances to
develop even more.
U-dub AD Troy Dannen is not taken aback. “I had a hint around Thanksgiving, believe it or not,” Dannen said to
Inside the Huskies. “We presented a pretty good contract offer, and I was a little concerned when we couldn’t sign
it.” Alabama wanted to meet with DeBoer within 24 hours of Nick Saban’s announcement of his retirement,
according to the former AD at Tulane.
DeBoer sobbed. After accepting the Tide offer, the new head coach of UA was heard speaking to his team on tape
from Seattle. The tape, according to BamaHammer, was serious stuff. I nearly experienced a horrible, empty feeling
in my stomach upon learning about what was going on across
the countryside (in Tuscaloosa), as I had a gut feeling that something was likely approaching. “I hope you guys can
just understand someday,” DeBoer said to his group. Right now, I don’t expect you to understand, but if you do, I’m
grateful. At some point, hopefully, you will comprehend. It was inevitable, the Hammer argued, that Alabama would
ultimately face off against Washington. And his pay, which reportedly increased to almost $10 million in Alabama
from $4.2 million at Washington.
Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated interjected,
unable to let NIL alone. “In actuality, athletes
are merely receiving a portion of the latitude
that adults have consistently enjoyed.” When
super agent Jimmy Sexton orchestrated an
unprecedented power grab last week, no one
expressed a desire to completely reform the
system. Agents who help athletes move
around have been called an existential danger
to collegiate athletics. The player transfers—
who now have real choices for freedom of
movement—are the difference.That is a sign of
advancement rather than the end of the world.
