The 2023 season for the Minnesota Vikings was not what they had planned for. After missing several important
starters for significant stretches of the season, injuries undoubtedly wrecked their season. When quarterback Kirk
Cousins tore his achilles in week eight against the Green Bay Packers, it might have been the most significant injury
of the year. However, information on Cousins’ recuperation and his projected availability in 2024 has lately come to
light.

NFL media reporter Tom Pelissero reports Cousins is coming along quite nicely:
“Cousins will turn 36 prior to the upcoming season. He’s recovering from his Achilles tear. Nevertheless, Pelissero
stated, “I’ve been informed he’s recovering ahead of schedule.” “Everything is going well for Kirk Cousins to be fully
prepared to play for the Vikings, or whoever he might be with in 2024. He’s actually going to be throwing before the
combine next month.”

Before suffering his injury, Cousins completed 69.5% of his throws for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five
interceptions with a passer rating of 103.8. He was headed for one of his best quarterbacking seasons to date. He
spent three seasons supporting Robert Griffin III before taking over as Washington’s full-time starting in 2015. He
played six years with Washington and was selected to one Pro Bowl before joining the Vikings in 2018.
It will be intriguing to observe Kirk Cousins’ final destination in 2024. The veteran quarterback has been vocally
requested by numerous players and coaches to return to Minnesota in 2024 and beyond, but as of right now, there
has been no word on a contract extension.
