Though they have been ranked in the last three weekly AP Poll rankings, the Alabama men’s basketball team has
never been in the elite top 25. After losing to then-No. 6 Tennessee last week, the Crimson Tide’s hopes of ranking in
the top 25 were dashed.

But this week, they upset LSU and then-No. 8 Auburn, and they finally earned a spot back in the AP Top 25. Alabama
is ranked No. 24 in the poll from Week 13.
After losing to San Diego State in the Sweet 16 of the yearly March Madness tournament, Alabama’s 2022–2023
season came to an abrupt end. Due to many players joining the NBA before the season began, the Tide was dropped
to the No. 24 spot; nevertheless, they won their first four games and moved up to the No. 22 and No. 17 spots the
following weeks.
Alabama dropped to No. 23 in the AP Poll a few days after losing their season opener against Ohio State on
December 20. After losing four of their next five games, the Crimson Tide were eliminated from the race due to
insufficient votes in the poll conducted the following week.

But as SEC play began, things took a turn for the better, and as said earlier, Alabama has garnered votes over the last
three weeks as a result of a fantastic 5-1 start against the conference. For the remainder of the season, they only
expect to rise in the AP Poll.
