With Andretti-Cadillac hard at work in Toyota’s Cologne windtunnel, parts are currently in production. Testing of a full-scale F1 chassis model is scheduled for mid-2024. Chester told The Athletic that he was happy to see this initiative come together and that it has attracted workers from Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull, the four teams that finished in the top four of the 2023 Constructors’ Championship. Chester said, “It’s a team that wants to win and wants to do it right. “That’s the mindset you want to be there in every place you go. When I first started speaking before I joined, the resources and the work that would be required to make it successful just made it extremely, quite appealing. To be honest, I was kind of astonished at how simple it was to get others interested in the idea. Before General Motors, the parent company of Cadillac, announced its intention to become a producer of F1 power units, there were doubts about the extent of GM’s involvement with Andretti-Cadillac, particularly among the current 10 teams.

Chester clarified, however, that GM’s involvement in windtunnel testing and the current part manufacture means that Andretti-Cadillac would not have made half of this development without their help.
“Without GM’s involvement, we wouldn’t have completed half of what we have now,” Chester said.
It functions more like a single team than a system where things are thrown back and forth. It’s integrating quite smoothly now.The current Formula One teams have a majority objection to Andretti-Cadillac. They cite infrastructural problems at certain F1 locations along with revenue loss as justifications.
Although the F1 teams are not yet in favor of Andretti-Cadillac, team owner Michael Andretti is expressing his confidence that they will be accepted by continuing with preparations. He believes that the only thing that could go wrong is that the American company helps F1 with their presence. F1 president Stefano Domenicali has remained silent on the matter.
Formula 1 has had a sharp increase in popularity in the US; in 2023, Las Vegas will join Miami and Austin as the third US-based event on the schedule.

Andretti emphasized, “The benefits we will bring to the sport and the championship are so evident, as Mohammed [Ben Sulayem, FIA president] has remarked a number of times.
“It is inconceivable that someone would attempt to thwart our plans and deny racing enthusiasts the chance to witness an authentic American works team facing off against the illustrious names presently participating in Formula One.”
The Bahrain Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on March 2nd, 2024, and will mark the beginning of a 24-round Formula 1 schedule.
