This coming weekend will mark his first recruiting weekend as the new head coach of the defending national
champions, and one of the best prospects on the East Coast will be on campus.
Rowan Byrne, a four-star offensive lineman from New Rochelle (NY) Iona Prep 2025, has confirmed to The
Michigan Insider that he will be visiting Michigan this weekend on an unofficial basis.
The 6-foot-6, 297-pound player has already visited the campus; he was there for the Ohio State game in late
November.
Since accepting the offer from the Wolverines in June, he and Moore have developed a close relationship. Grant
Newsome, the new offensive line coach, recently visited his school and began fostering that relationship as well.
“It was excellent,” Byrne expressed to The Michigan Insider. “Today was great, but I’d been slowly building a
relationship with him already.”After having held the role and worked with Coach Moore, he is unquestionably
capable of doing the job as well. He’ll be an excellent offensive line coach, in my opinion.
As of right now, Byrne has received 20 scholarship offers for his recruiting.
As of right now, there aren’t any 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Byrne is the top player in New York for his class, the nation’s 24th
best offensive lineman, and the class’s 264th overall prospect.
