After Michigan won the national title on January 8, more than a dozen players announced their intent to enter the
2024 NFL draft in the space of two weeks. The list was joined by another on Friday night. Security Quinten Johnson,
who spent the previous two seasons as a rotational member of Michigan’s secondary, made the choice to enter the
draft on social media as opposed to staying in Ann Arbor for a sixth season.

He stated, “I carry with me the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the love and support of my incredible
community as I take this next step in my journey as a national champion, having said that, I’m announcing my
choice to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.”
Johnson, who was rated as a three-star recruit for the 2019 season, did not participate in his rookie campaign and
spent most of his 2020 and 2021 season on special teams.
Over the last two seasons, the Maryland native’s role has grown; in 29 games, he has recorded 33 tackles, one
interception, and five pass breakups. In the Wolverines’ 2023 regular-season finale, he will be most known for his hit
on Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka, which forced an incompletion, and for robbing Alabama quarterback Jalen
Milroe of his pass in an overtime Rose Bowl victory that sent the team to the national title. Johnson weighs 200
pounds and 5 feet 11 inches tall. Johnson does not meet the requirements for underclassmen to declare for the draft,
which was set for January 15.

He wrote, “I am so grateful for the unforgettable years that have impacted me in ways I could never have imagined,”
to the faculty and staff of the University of Michigan. “I was fortunate enough to earn a degree from ‘the best
university in the world,’ and to enjoy the unmatched joy of performing in front of the greatest audience in the
country.'” Wearing the winged helmet, the Michigan shirt, and playing for a community that is passionate about
maize and blue has been the ultimate honor for me.
