A play-in team in the Eastern Conference is interested in Golden State Warriors’ injured backup point guard Chris Paul.
With the trade deadline of February 8 just a few days away, Action Network’s Matt Moore reports that the Orlando Magic
had Paul and another veteran guard on their radar.
The Magic have been searching for long-term point guard assistance for more than a year. Before the Raptors hung onto
Fred VanVleet (and lost him in free agency), they were involved in negotiations with him last year. Orlando has explored
every possible possibility available, and sources told Moore on February 3 that the team is now interested in two
veterans, Kyle Lowry and Chris Paul.

This season, the Magic have cooled off after a scorching start. With a 26-23 record, they are now ranked eighth in the
East.
Moore went on, “Details of negotiations are unknown, but each team is interested in Jonathan Isaac and Moses Moody as
possible trade targets.”
Paul, 38, is presently recuperating from his second left hand metacarpal fracture. Five days ago, he was cleared to start
mild individual on-court workouts while wearing a splint on his hand. Before the All-Star break, the Warriors’ medical
team will reevaluate him.
However, Moody is far closer to playing again than Paul is.
After missing practice on January 10 due to a grade 1 strain in his left calf, Moody has returned to the Warriors. Moody,
21, scored 21 points in a row in his previous games against the Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Pelicans.
