The Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers were unable to finalize a trade during the previous offseason.
Things might be different this time.
As the trade deadline draws near, there are rumors that the Heat are interested in Trail Blazers forward Jerami
Grant. The most recent commentator on the prospect of Grant joining Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Terry
Rozier in Miami is Rohan Nadkarni of SI.com.

Do Portland and Miami genuinely welcome commercial ventures? If so, the Heat ought to think about discussing this
arrangement over the phone a few times a day,” Nadkarni wrote on Monday. Grant would provide the Heat a better
fit in the starting lineup than Herro and the added bulk they need to take on some of their conference rivals. It
should be emphasized that Grant has not requested to be moved.”
If a deal is reached, it will proceed just as it did the previous summer, when the Heat were chasing Damian Lillard,
the guard for the Blazers at the time. Herro was reportedly uninterested in by the Blazers due to their inexperienced
guard group.

Perhaps since then, things have changed?
But do the Blazers really think highly of Herro? During the Damian Lillard conversations, he wasn’t in high
demand,” Nadkarni stated. “However, Herro is still a talented young scorer who has spent his entire career doing
well on strong teams. As Scoot Henderson finds his form, he might be able to regain his position as Portland’s sixth
man or perhaps start. Worst case scenario, he’s just another future trade piece. If Jović receives regular playing time
at last, he might also begin to reach his full potential.”Shandel Richardson covers the Miami Heat for Sports
