RIGHT IN: Christian Horner-what has happened and what comes next…

Following claims this week of inappropriate and domineering behavior against him, Christian Horner is scheduled to

meet with a barrister selected by Red Bull Racing’s parent business to do an independent external investigation.

Please take note that this is not a hearing, a tribunal, or a court matter.

Horner will make his case to the inquiry which has already collated evidence from the female employee who made

the allegations. They will then consider the evidence and report to Red Bull GmbH, who will then take action if

required. Horner would reserve the right to take subsequent legal action. A conclusion into the investigation is not

anticipated on Friday.

Horner’s profession is in jeopardy. In the event that the investigation concludes that the accusations are true, Red

Bull GmbH would probably be forced to fire him, which is undoubtedly untenable. If it’s not quite that clear-cut, they

might opt for different forms of criticism, such his dismissal as Red Bull Racing’s CEO rather than as the team’s

principle. Horner and Red Bull Racing will want to move on from the incident as soon as possible if he is found not

guilty.

After two seasons of dominance, including three straight drivers’ titles for Max Verstappen, the team won an

unprecedented 21 of 22 races in the previous season. It is widely anticipated that they would field a car with a similar

level of power in 2024. However, considering Horner’s tenure with the squad and the influence his personality has

had on it, these developments might be extremely unstable. They are stunned by the accusations, and if the 50-year-

old is ousted, there will probably be significant turmoil following which it may take some time for things to stabilize

and recover.

The proprietors of Formula One have not yet commented on the

events,

preferring to wait for the investigation’s findings. Outside of the drivers,

Horner is among the most well-known and visible figures in the sport. His

rivalry with Toto Wolff of Mercedes has been a major component of the

Formula One story for the past ten years and has contributed to the sport’s

recent upsurge in popularity. Horner is a highly visible team principal who is

well-known throughout the world; his dismissal for improper behavior would

do significant damage to the public perception of the sport.

Horner, who has been a team principal for the longest period on the grid, is a valuable member of the Red Bull team

and has a wealth of expertise in Formula One. There aren’t many clear substitutes from outside Red Bull in the sport.

The most senior team principal who isn’t currently signed to a team is Mattia Binotto, who was formerly with

Ferrari, but it doesn’t seem like he would fit in with Red Bull’s ethos. On the inside, though, the obvious choice would

be Jonathan Wheatley, the team’s sporting director, who has been there since 2006. Oliver Mintzlaff, managing

director of Red Bull GmbH, is reportedly being considered for a top position.
