Terry Rozier hurt his knee during the Boston Celtics’ victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday. During the game, the seasoned guard landed awkwardly and immediately grasped his knee. After that, he was unable to make his free throws.
Miami is currently awaiting an MRI’s findings. The outcomes of those games will have a big impact on how the Heat play the rest of the season. Pat Riley sent Kyle Lowry in the other direction when he made the trade for Rozier. Rozier has a history of scoring in large quantities and is younger and more explosive. He and Tyler Herro were beginning to get along.
This season, Erik Spoelstra’s squad has had difficulties. Their summertime chase of Damian Lillard prevented the front office from making any improvements to the playing roster. Finding a phenomenal player to team with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo was the main priority. That was an unsuccessful endeavor. The squad can only get so far under Spoelstra’s leadership. If Miami hopes to return to the NBA Finals as soon as possible, they will need Rozier’s playmaking, scoring, and aggressive style of play. It will also harm Miami to not have Lowry as a backup guard. They don’t currently have a reliable backup ball handler. The Heat are still haunted by losing Gabe Vincent to the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason.

Miami surely hopes that Rozier’s injury isn’t too bad. It is imperative that he returns to the rotation as soon as possible. They need him to keep adjusting to Miami’s system and his new teammates in addition to the fact that he might benefit the team in the playoffs. Miami ought to receive an update soon.
