CeeDee Lamb, the outstanding wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, expressed optimism recently and expressed his desire for a long-term contract. The fifth-year option on Lamb’s rookie contract, which would run the Cowboys $18 million, will allow him to play next season.

If Lamb signs a long-term contract, Sportrac estimates that his current market value will be $28 million annually. With that amount, he would be directly behind Tyreek Hill, who in 2022 inked a four-year, $120 million contract with Miami. Given that Lamb finished the previous season as the second-most productive wide receiver behind Hill, the price appears to be reasonable.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano is fully expecting an agreement between Dallas and Lamb. The Cowboys will be able to lower their cap costs in order to pay other big contracts, such as Dak Prescott, who is expected to cost close to $60 million the following season. Dallas needs as much room as they can get because Micah Parsons wants his contract extended. All of this suggests that Lamb will soon sign a long-term contract and take on a bigger role in the locker room, which is something that all supporters agree is desperately required when this team struggles to win games like they did in the playoffs.
For the time being, the front office is in charge of
finalizing a new deal. Regarding Lamb, however, he
seems eager and hopeful about closing a deal.
