The troubled Red Bull Racing team principal is being accused of inappropriate behavior, which may put an end to his
illustrious tenure as the team’s world champion.
Horner has subsequently faced an impartial arbiter after Red Bull announced earlier this month that it was looking
into the situation.

But more than a week after that meeting, there has been no formal news. Formula 1 Management released a
statement during the quiet, requesting that the issue be handled “at the earliest opportunity.”
Now that the drama is still going on, the FIA has released a statement of their own.
“The FIA reiterates that we will not be commenting further until the investigation has concluded and the outcome is
known in relation to the independent investigation currently being undertaken by Red Bull GMbH,” the statement
read.
“The FIA is still dedicated to keeping the sport’s highest standards of honesty, equity, and inclusivity.”
The FIA, which oversees the sport, is in charge of enforcing the regulations and is prepared to take action if Horner’s
accusations turn out to be true. The 50-year-old hasn’t, however, violated any of the three sets of rules that control
Formula One: sporting, technical, or financial”.

Therefore, the FIA is merely an interested party observing the current situation.
If the accusations turn out to be true, Horner’s departure from Red Bull Racing would almost certainly result in the
FIA being involved.
In fact, the governing body could only intervene if Horner stayed with Red Bull Racing or returned to the sport in a
different capacity and the accusations proved to be true.
At that point, the FIA might try to prosecute him for bringing the sport into disrepute under the International
Sporting Code.
That is Horner’s worst-case situation—he has always insisted on being innocent. Prior to the matter going public,
Speedcafe acknowledged that he had rejected an offer to leave the team on his own terms. He has since released a
brief statement refuting the accusations.
He has not been demoted or suspended and has continued to serve as the team’s principal. Last week, he addressed
the media as part of the team’s season opener.
