On Sunday night, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo participated in his third NBA All-Star game, which was exciting for both sides.

In 17 minutes of play, the Heat big man finished with three points, two rebounds, and two assists. With a humorous play to round off the evening, it’s safe to say Adebayo had a good time. He dribbled the ball off the back of Nikola Jokic, a center for the Denver Nuggets, and made a disputed three-pointer over him. For the Heat, Adebayo’s starting debut is his first since Dwyane Wade in 2016. Joel Embiid, who is ailing, is not starting in favor of the 26-year-old big man. With guard Tyler Herro not meeting the required number of games played and forward Jimmy Butler skipping out, he is the only member of the team to compete in this year’s match.

Adebayo is not the only Heat player taking part in All-Star Weekend, though. Jaime Jaquez Jr., a rookie, participated in the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest and the Rising Stars Challenge. In the first round of the dunk competition, he and Jacob Toppin of the New York Knicks were eliminated.
Adebayo is still a vital member of the Heat’s defense, but this season he is developing offensively. In 45 games, he is averaging 20.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 51 percent shooting. In his seven-year career, Adebayo is participating in his third NBA All-Star game.
