Many predicted that the Green Bay Packers would regress after losing Aeceiving corps that continued to improve and
an offensive line that was equally strong. However, a crucial component of the trenches may soon be removed from

David Bakhtiari has battled injuries even though he was a two-time All-Pro left tackle during his 11 seasons with the
Green Bay Packers. When healthy, the 32-year-old has performed at on Rodgers, and that Jordan Love would go
through the normal growing pains that come with being a first-year starter. Evaren though Love sustained his usual
knocks and bruises, he demonstrated why the Packers were so ready to let go of their four-time NFL MVP.
Love did, however, surpass expectations with some assistance from a ra very high level, but since 2021, he has only
started 13 games. In addition, he will be subject to a $39.9 million cap hit in 2024—Bakhtiari’s last year of contract.
The Packers cannot afford to take a chance on Bakhtiari at his current cost, as noted by Matt Schneidman of The
Athletic. By releasing or cutting the seasoned left tackle, the team would save almost $21 million in cap space.

As previously indicated, there’s always a potential that Bakhtiari would appreciate the opportunity to work with
Aaron Rodgers again and assist in addressing one of the New York Jets’ greatest flaws in the Big Apple.
The Packers have demonstrated that they can succeed without Bakhtiari in the starting lineup thanks to Rasheed
Walker and Yosh Nijman. Even if it means letting go of a fan favorite, the Packers might have a better chance at
assembling a stronger roster overall if he uses his cap savings elsewhere.
