Although the NBA is the peak of basketball, viewers frequently fail to recognize the amount of work required to even
maintain competitiveness at that level. A lot of NBA players leave the league after just one or two years, as former
Warriors forward Eric Paschall attests to.
After signing with the Timberwolves for 2022–2023 but being dismissed before the season began, he was last seen
playing in the NBA with the Utah Jazz in 2021–2022. Recently, he was seen working out with former NBA All-Star
Paul Millsap in an open gym.
Paschall becomes overweight just a few seasons after joining the NBA, which worries fans.

Paschall had a fantastic performance in the clips, giving the impression that he still had his basketball touch. Instead
of focusing on that, fans are talking on Paschall’s alarming weight increase.
His final NBA game was in 2023, when he was a player with the Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico. Before being let go
in April 2023, he played in seven games there, averaging 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Since then, he
hasn’t played professionally.
The Golden State Warriors selected Eric Paschall with the 41st overall choice in the 2019 NBA Draft. With averages
of 14.0 points and 4.6 rebounds, the adaptable 6’6″ forward Paschall had a fantastic rookie season on the injury-
plagued Warriors, earning a spot on the All-Rookie First Team for 2020.

In his sophomore campaign, he participated in 40 games and saw a decline in his stats to 9.5 points and 3.2
rebounds. In the 2021 summer, he would subsequently be moved to the Utah Jazz for a 2026 second-round
selection. During his one season in Utah, he averaged 5.8 points and 1.8 rebounds. That was his final NBA season
when the Timberwolves in 2022 signed him but waived him before the season began.
With Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo leading the Villanova Wildcats, the New York Knicks are a
successful team today. Mikal Bridges is one of the more gifted colleagues from that 2018 NCAA champion team. Eric
Paschall was another name on that roster; he hasn’t enjoyed the same kind of success as Ryan Arcidiacono or even
his college buddy.
In the span of a single glance, Paschall went from being a rotational NBA player to being out of the league. His
playing style, which wasn’t the greatest fit for the current NBA, was mostly to blame. Because of his size (6’6″), he
was unable to stretch the floor, which would make it impossible for him to be able to play in the NBA rotation
without an outside jumper. Despite having a decent mid-range game and being a tenacious defender and rebounder,
Paschall’s lack of size and shooting made it difficult for him to stay in the NBA for too long.
The NBA paid him $4.1 million.
After failing to fit in among big guys like James Wiseman, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney, Paschall saw his
services become obsolete when the Warriors selected Jonathan Kuminga in the 2021 NBA Draft. Along with his close
buddy Donovan Mitchell, he was traded to a struggling Jazz squad, but the deal was unsuccessful.
With luck, Paschall can carry on with his NBA career. Although his apparent weight gain has fans worried, the 27-
year-old might yet lose weight and contend for a two-way contract or a berth in the G League.
