BREAKING NEWS: King Drops Truth Bomb on Chicago Bears Trade Rumor…

When Peter King, a legendary NFL writer, announced his retirement on Monday, it appeared that he had inside

information on what the Chicago Bears would do with the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Although King stated that Chicago would trade the pick and retain Justin Fields as their quarterback of the future, it

is expected that the Bears would use the pick to choose Caleb Williams out of USC.

Naturally, the story went viral online and generated a lot of conversation, especially considering how surprising it

seems that the Bears would take such a risky action.

For the record, King stated in the same reporting that he “knows nothing” and that the information is simply flowing

in that direction. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop others from accepting the viewpoint as accurate and a settled matter.

“I assume the #1 pick will be traded by the Bears. That appears to be the direction the wind is blowing, but I have no

idea. What I say: The Bears should and could keep Justin Fields, trade the first selection once or twice, and assemble

the kind of supporting group that a contending club needs.Assume general manager Ryan Poles sent Washington,

which would have selected Caleb Williams, the top pick in exchange for the second pick, a second-round selection,

and a first-round selection in 2025. Let’s say that at pick eight, Poles traded Atlanta the second selection, and the

Falcons selected one of the other quarterbacks. Chicago receives the eighth pick in exchange for Atlanta’s second-

round selection as well as first- and second-round picks.

Legendary NFL, Monday Morning QB Writer Peter King Pens Farewell in Surprise Last Column

Although the idea that the Bears should trade the top pick has been floated before, and given what Chicago stands to

gain from it, it makes some logic, many others find it intolerable.

With Fields leading the team in struggles the past three years, many fans feel a change is necessary if the Bears are to

become relevant again. It seems obvious to choose the Trojans product and build around Williams, who is thought to

be the unanimous number one pick.

Although Peter King stated in his column that he doesn’t know anything, the attention it received led him to

elaborate on the circumstances.

King stressed that she had spoken to no one during her appearance on the Dan Patrick Show. I have not spoken with

anyone. I recently read what is available.

That’s it, all right. King was only conjecturing on his own, based on what he has observed and heard from people in

the NFL.

In addition, the Bears should wait to make a final decision because the NFL Combine is still early and Caleb Williams

hasn’t had his Pro Day.
