NEW DEAL: Former Chicago Bears QB Signs With The Team…

In 2024, former No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky of the Chicago Bears will return to a well-known offense. Following a two-year tenure in which he went from being ranked first on the depth chart to being benched in favor of Mason Rudolph, the Pittsburgh Steelers released Trubisky in February.
Prior to the 2022 NFL Draft, in which Pittsburgh selected Kenny Pickett in the first round, the Steelers signed Trubisky. During the 2022 season, Trubisky lost his starting position to the rookie.

In an effort to balance their cap space for the following season, the Bills announced significant cuts of players who were All-Pro and Pro Bowl caliber on the same day that Trubisky signed. In addition, the Bills decided not to hire a head coach for the 2024 campaign. Following his first season with the Bears, Trubisky signed a contract with the Bills for the 2021 campaign. He played with Buffalo for a season before joining the Steelers. If Josh Allen, the starting quarterback, is injured, the Bills have another quarterback who they feel confident can lead their offense.

After a lackluster tenure in Chicago, Justin Fields, Trubisky’s replacement, is anticipated to be traded by the Bears. With a first-round selection, the Bears will get a taste of life at quarterback. The Bears can put the nightmares of the Trubisky and Fields eras behind them if they choose Caleb Williams.
