The former quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mitch Trubisky, has moved on to a new position in the NFL
rather swiftly. The veteran player and the Buffalo Bills are said to have inked a two-year contract worth $5.25
million, with an opportunity to earn $8.45 million. Trubisky’s salary for the upcoming season is guaranteed to be
$2.7 million.

Pittsburgh, though, didn’t go as planned. As the starter, he was inconsistent with a 2–5 record, finishing 64.1% of his
throws for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns, and ten interceptions. Trubisky was benched by Week 5 of 2022 when
rookie Kenny Pickett assumed the starting position. After Pickett was injured in Week 13, Trubisky was able to regain
the starting position for a brief period of time in 2023. However, he was unable to turn things around, finishing with
two defeats and 359 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. After taking over, Mason Rudolph helped the
Steelers win their final three games and guarantee a postseason trip.
Before becoming a free agent, Trubisky, who was originally selected by the Chicago Bears with the second overall
choice in the 2017 NFL Draft, enjoyed a respectable career with a 29-21 record. The Bills’ choice to add him to the
squad is a calculated move in the context of other team endeavors. The Bills cut six players, including Jordan Poyer
and Tre’Davious White, and restructured contracts, including Von Miller’s, on the same day that Trubisky was
signed. They also apparently re-signed Taylor Rapp, a safety, prior to the impending free agency season.
