Malachi Goodman, a four-star interior offensive lineman from Paramus (NJ) Catholic who is a 2025 recruit, is one of
the talented offensive linemen that Michigan is pursuing.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound player was offered by the Wolverines back in May, and he was clearly delighted about the
offer. Greg Scruggs, the defensive line coach at Michigan, has been traveling with the top players in the country,
particularly in the Midwest.
Since formally joining Michigan, The Michigan Insider has maintained communication with two players: Palatine,
Illinois, 2025 four-star defensive lineman Jaylen Williams, and Oak Park, Illinois, Fenwick 2025 four-star defensive
lineman Nathaniel Marshall.
Many college football programs are in the midst of spring workouts, while other teams will begin play in the
upcoming weeks as they take the field as official teams. This is the first time that transfers, early enrollees, and new
coaches will collaborate outside of the film room with the 15-practice slate. It gives breakthrough athletes and teams
a boost.
These practices are critical for all teams, but they have a greater effect on those that had significant offseason
adjustments. The spring is a crucial season for introducing new strategies and easing players into new positions
because of changes to coaching staffs and rosters.
Making sure that the changing of the starting lineup and the staff operate smoothly are even more important for the
teams that are among the best in college football. Rebuilding processes cannot take longer than a few months in
order to compete for conference and national championships.
After the 2023 season, a number of starters, including two standouts in linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper and cornerback
Kris Abrams-Draine, left Missouri, including top defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who was lost to a league rival.
To maintain their newfound success as one of the SEC’s genuine title contenders, the Tigers will need to reload on
that side of the ball. Preventing a dropoff started well with the acquisition of a few high-impact transfers, notably
former Clemson cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. The process of forming a new-look squad starts with spring workouts
and lasts into the offseason.
Louisville’s offense needs to improve from its first season under head coach Jeff Brohm if the team is to advance as a
whole in his second year. Enter a big class of offensive transfers that includes, among many others, one of college
football’s most prolific rushers in Peny Boone, a pair of talented receivers in Caullin Lacy and Ja’Corey Brooks, a new
projected starting quarterback in Tyler Shough, and a few offensive linemen. As the top spot in the ACC is still up for
grabs, taking a chance on so many rookies could pay off. It’s critical to get the group moving quickly in the spring.
When he signed the top-ranked transfer class in the country early in the offseason, Lane Kiffin showed off his talent
acquisition prowess. On a team that was already in the running for the SEC championship, the majority of the best
players in that group play defense and close the gaps. A College Football Playoff berth can be achieved by combining
an explosive offense with a much-improved defense front that includes tackle Walter Nolen, edge rusher Princely
Umanmielen, cornerback Trey Amos, and others. However, those crucial additions need to perform well from the
start. The group’s performance in the spring ought to demonstrate the potential of the Rebels.
