One of the greatest names in the NFL right now is Travis Kelce, the standout tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs,
who is regarded by most as the best in the division. Before Kelce, most people thought Rob Gronkowski of the New
England Patriots was the best tight end. Fans continue to argue about Kelce vs. Gronkowski on who is the better tight
end.

Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce share comparable backgrounds and experiences from their NFL careers. As a
member of the Patriots’ dynasty, Gronkowski won numerous Super Bowls while playing in New England. At this
point, Kelce and the Chiefs appear to be the upcoming NFL superteam, and Kelce is beginning to accumulate rings.
Former NFL player Julian Edelman, a wide receiver for the Patriots, is one member of team Gronk in this discussion.
As a teammate of Gronkowski, Edelman shared in the Patriots’ dynasty years. He recently spoke about why he
believes Gronkowski to be the superior tight end on The Bill Simmons Podcast.
Bill Simmons: Travis Kelce reminds me more of a 6’6 right off the line semi-slot receiver than a tight end. He blocks
people, I know that, but Julian Edelman: He blocks, but as I’ve already stated, I’m a fan of Gronk and Team Gronk; I
have nothing but respect for Kelce and his accomplishments. I find him to be an absolute hottie. As previously
mentioned, route running is shrewd, but when it came to the finer points, we used to run to Gronk—you understand
—because you often have to flee from the tight end.

Although it’s obvious that Edelman respects Kelce greatly, he believes Gronkowski to be the superior tight end.
In the end, these two players rank among the best tight ends the NFL has ever had. Since Kelce is still active in the
NFL, he will have time to surpass Gronkowski in the number of Super Bowl rings. It would be shocking if Kelce
didn’t win more Super Bowls with the way the Chiefs have played in recent years. To tie Gronk, he simply needs one
more.
