NEW DEAL: Former Browns Defensive Tackle Signs a Two year contract with 49ers at $10m

Jordan Elliot, a former defensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns, signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

Jordan Elliot, the third-round pick of the Browns in 2020, has left Cleveland to sign a deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

On a defensive line for the Browns that saw a surge in improvement in the 2023 campaign, Elliot was beginning to leave his imprint. The first three seasons Elliot spent in Cleveland were mostly spent growing. Because he was not yet ready for the NFL level, he did not spend much time on the field.
By year four, everything had changed. Elliot developed into a much more formidable force in the center of the Browns defensive line, which contributed significantly to the team’s triumph in 2023.

Because of a few injuries, Elliot was able to play in all 17 of Cleveland’s games, including a career-high 14 starts. With three tackles for loss and a career-high 2.5 sacks, he concluded. Over the course of four seasons, he totaled 98 tackles during his tenure with Cleveland. Elliot could not have come to a better place when it came time to move on.
He’s going west to join the runner-ups in the Super Bowl and one of the top defensive lines in football. On a defensive line with Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead, Elliot won’t be getting the most attention.

Due to a few 49ers free-agency departures, he will play a bigger role on his new team. Elliot has the opportunity to restart his career and make a fresh start, regardless of the demands placed on him in San Francisco.
