Mike Williams, a wide receiver worth $60 million and a former Los Angeles Charger, is expected to visit the Carolina
Panthers this Tuesday; he could end up signing with them. He is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets on
Monday in addition to this visit, as reported by Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio. Williams has played his whole
career for the Chargers, recording 249 receiving yards and a score despite missing most of the previous year due to
an ACL injury. Los Angeles saved $20 million by releasing him earlier this week in order to avoid paying the salary
ceiling.
Ian Rapoport claims that the Chargers are still thinking about adding Williams back to their roster. Following the
trade of their other standout receiver, Keenan Allen, to the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles is severely lacking in
weapons. Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnson are the two starting receivers the Chargers have that could be
dependable right now; it required this transaction for them to be under the salary cap. Following speculations of a

Willaims may have a better chance of replacing Allen Lazard after being placed on the trade block. Despite Williams’
history of injuries, they might be taking a significant risk on him despite their similar skill sets. Garrett Wilson would
benefit from it as well, but if they also bring back Lazard, things get really interesting. For Rodgers, these three
receivers would mean a potential AFC contender and a successful comeback season.
