Justin Fields is presently en route. And he’s headed to the location where Russell Wilson touched down this past
week.
Chicago sent the Pittsburgh Steelers their first-round pick in 2021 in exchange for a sixth-round selection. The
contents of the agreement were first revealed by Adam Schefter of ESPN. If Fields plays at least 51 percent of the
Steelers’ snaps this season, the pick could move up to the fourth round.
The amount of compensation is lower than what was ultimately given up in other transactions of a comparable
nature. Sam Howell was dealt to Seattle by Washington and Kenny Pickett was moved by Pittsburgh to Philadelphia
in draft-pick deals that essentially valued the quarterbacks as late third- to early fourth-round selections.

However, Howell and Pickett’s rookie contracts still have two years left on them. Justin Fields only possesses one.
Furthermore, it’s not impossible that Fields could nudged Wilson out in addition to pushing him. Unless Fields’ fifth-
year option is exercised by the Steelers, Wilson and Fields will both be on one-year contracts with no chance of
permanence.
Now that Justin Fields has left the Chicago Bears after three seasons, everything is in place for Caleb Williams to go
to the team with the first overall pick, the Bears.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Broncos conducted formal interviews with Williams and other quarterback
prospects Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and Spencer Rattler. After interviewing
quarterback Michael Pratt during Senior Bowl week, Denver also had a casual meeting with him at the Combine.

With the Broncos lacking draft cash and not having a second-round pick this year, trading up to the first overall pick
is not feasible. Furthermore, given their free-agent activities over the past six days, they shouldn’t receive any
compensatory picks in the 2025 draft.
