Kai Jones has signed a 10-day deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, the organization announced today. Daryl Morey is
the president of basketball operations for the team. The deal’s terms were not revealed in accordance with team
policy.
The draft rights of Jones, who was originally chosen by New York with the 19th choice in the 2021 NBA Draft, were
later transferred to Charlotte. During his 67 NBA games with the Hornets, he averaged 2.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, and
56.7 percent shooting. For the Hornets in the previous season, Jones scored in double digits four times, including his
first career double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds) on March 28, 2023, against Oklahoma City.
Over the previous two seasons, Jones also played in 38 games (37 starts) with the Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte’s G
League club, scoring 17.2 points on 65.8% of his shots. In 30.3 minutes a game, he added 10.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists,
1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocked shots. In 2022–23, Jones had the highest field goal percentage (74.4%) among all G
League players.

During his two seasons at the University of Texas, Jones played in 53 games (14 starts) and averaged 6.2 points, 4.0
rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 19.7 minutes per game. The Bahamas native became the first Longhorn to win the Big 12
Conference’s Sixth Man of the Year title after his sophomore campaign.
Jones will play for the 76ers as No. 88.
