As NFL Free Agency continues, the dust has been settling, but the Arizona Cardinals have lost a defensive and special
teams player.

KPRC 2 According to Houston NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, San Francisco 49ers, an NFC West rival of the Cardinals,
have signed free agency linebacker Ezekiel Turner.
With “a] prime opportunity to showcase skill at Iinebacker and as a core special teams contributor, Ezekiel Turner
signs a one-year deal with the 49ers,” according to Wilson.
On April 30, 2018, the University of Washington product signed as an undrafted free agent with Arizona to become a
professional.
In 80 games (three starts) throughout the course of his six-year (2018–23) tenure with the Cardinals, Turner
recorded 83 tackles. He forced an error during the 2022 campaign.
Turner was third in the NFL in terms of total special teams tackles (16) during his first season. The native of
Maryland was named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team in recognition of his efforts on
special teams.
The 6-foot-2, 214-pound player missed two months of action due to a shoulder injury that occurred on October 13,
2021.

It was announced on Monday that the Cardinals had signed free agent linebacker Mack Wilson; however, this did not
ensure Turner’s return.
Turner will now be a part of San Francisco’s already strong defensive core, which is trying to get back on track after
losing Super Bowl LVIII. The 49ers would receive a player that can be counted on when he accepts the same job that
he did in Arizona.
