Christian Horner should step down, according to Formula 1 icon Johnny Herbert, in light of the latest probe into
claims of “inappropriate behavior.”
Although the 50-year-old Red Bull team principal was exonerated following an independent investigation last
month, the issue has continued to impact him and his group. The three-time world champion Max Verstappen’s
flawless start to the new season has been overshadowed by recent events, raising questions about his long-term
future with Red Bull.

Prior to joining Sky Sports as a pundit, Herbert,59, competed in Formula One racing for more than ten years. The
former British racer is sure that Red Bull is suffering from the ongoing ramifications from the incident, and that it
may even cost them Verstappen’s services.
“With everything going on and the belated heat on it, it’s not a good thing for F1,” he said to The Sun. The fact that
Red Bull now has the best driver in the world doesn’t assist their position.
And from what I’ve heard, they’re getting pretty close to closing the deal with Mercedes, which would mean they’re
moving [Max Verstappen] off the team. Their greatest advantage does not seem to be the Christian Horner program,
which makes it seem foolish.
Jos Verstappen, the man’s father, has spoken out following the event. Prior to last month’s Bahrain Grand Prix, he
urged Horner to step down, and earlier this week, he acknowledged that Verstappen Jr. “doesn’t like” answering
inquiries over the controversy.
Herbert went on, “Max leaving because
of the situation would be insane.” Jos has warned that it will tear
everything apart and be extremely damaging, and I believe it has
continued much too long. In certain ways, Christian ought to
reconsider and take a backseat.
In spite of constant rumors regarding Verstappen’s and his own
futures, Horner has maintained that he has the backing of his team and will stay in his position.
