RIGHT IN: Ravens Set for Visit With $62 Million Wide Receiver…

The Baltimore Ravens haven’t added many players in the NFL offseason of 2024.

After their major breakup with Derrick Henry, they haven’t done anything together since.

Over 10 players have left for other teams in the interim.

They’ll need to sign free agents soon because they have so many openings, and it appears like they may already have

their eye on one guy.

Cowboys to part with Michael Gallup, give WR permission to seek trade - Yahoo Sports

Michael Gallup, a former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, will visit with the Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam

Schefter.

In 2022, the Cowboys took a significant gamble by signing Gallup.

During his first four years in the NFL, he had been a good receiver, recording a 1000-yard season in 2019. However,

his fourth season in the league came to an end after nine games due to an ACL tear.

Despite the injuries, the Cowboys chose to sign him to a $62.5 million, five-year contract.

Gallup hasn’t put up the same numbers since he returned from the injuries.

In the three years since signing that contract, Gallup hasn’t had a season with 500 receiving yards.

During that time, he fell down the WR depth chart. CeeDee Lamb became one of the league’s best receivers and the

team ended up trading for Brandin Cooks last offseason.

Dallas made the decision to release Gallup in order to free up contract space because he was not able to provide the

Cowboys with a return on their investment and there were more skilled choices available on the team.

5 final Cowboys-Cardinals thoughts: Will Dallas get Michael Gallup involved on offense?

Gallup would be a good fit for the Ravens despite how things ended for him in Dallas if they can sign him to a

contract that is more fair than the one he has had for the past several years.

Currently in the offseason, the Ravens don’t appear to have a fixed plan for a wide receiver, although they may decide

against signing a household name in 2024.

With Zay Flowers, who had 77 catches for 858 yards as a rookie last season, they seem to have already discovered

their WR1.
