Despite the flurry of rumors surrounding him and the 49ers, Brandon Aiyuk has not wavered in his demand for a
long-term contract to be finalized.
This Thursday, San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan reiterated the same sentiment. During the NFL Annual
Meeting, Shanahan expressed to the media his continued goal of keeping the talented wide receiver with the Red &
Gold for the long run. The coach claimed that over the offseason, he and the 49ers have kept in touch with Aiyuk’s
team and had even crossed paths with him while on vacation in Cabo.

It is hoped that a compromise may be reached before the end of the summer, even if negotiations will be difficult for
both parties.
Regarding his standout receiver, Shanahan remarked, “BA is doing good.” “Hopefully, we can finish this as soon as
possible.”
This offseason, Brandon Aiyuk is expected to receive a significant contract extension. The player has shown his anger
following the Super Bowl LVIII loss by making suggestions about possible other venues for him to play if a deal in
San Francisco falls through.
In the end, the 49ers brass will hand Aiyuk the bag since he is eligible to receive more than $25 million a year. Even
though BA is about to begin his fifth year of option with the team, the Red & Gold won’t rush.
It seems that the 49ers are at ease having him play on the option. But closing the transaction is crucial for the
player’s career as well as that of their quarterback, Brock Purdy.
It’s enormous. It’s difficult to be a successful quarterback without excellent receivers, so Shanahan said, “I think it’s
really important for Brock and his future, making sure we’ve got a good group for him going forward. It starts there
with Brandon.”

Since the latter joined the league, Aiyuk and Purdy have gotten along well, and during training camp, Aiyuk became
his top target. Since then, their collaboration has only gotten stronger, as seen by the awards that Purdy and Aiyuk
shared for their 2023 performances.
Although closing a new contract is a different matter, 49ers management has experience doing so with in-house A-
List players.
“It takes two to tango, and we have a good history of working with the guys to get things done.” Can we do that then?
Regarding the Aiyuk contract negotiations, John Lynch stated, “We’ll see.” We love Brandon and his character as a
player, but there are a lot of various ways this might go. We will endeavor to make it happen because we want him to
be a member of the Niners.”
Furthermore, Lynch dispelled trade rumors this week.
He said, “I swear to you, nothing is happening there.”
In response to recent remarks made by Shanahan and Lynch, Brandon Aiyuk has shown less tolerance and posted a
mysterious emoji-filled Instagram post.
The 26-year-old Brandon Aiyuk recently had his greatest NFL season. In 16 games played, he finished 2023 with
1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. With just 75 receptions, the Rocklin, California native had the most
yards per catch (17.9) in the NFL last season. His play earned him a spot on the All-Pro team.
