For the better part of the upcoming ten years, the two teams may face off in the playoffs. The 49ers reportedly signed

a former Packers running back today, according to reports.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Patrick Taylor, a former running back for the Green Bay Packers, has agreed to

a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

After Taylor participated in 34 games for the team over three seasons, the Packers decided not to tender him to a

restricted contract. He was therefore a free agent without restrictions in 2024.

The Packers re-signed A.J. Dillon, tendered free agent Emanuel Wilson’s exclusive rights, and acquired Josh Jacobs

in exchange for Aaron Jones as part of their offseason moves.

Taylor had career highs in snaps and touches in 2023 with 226 snaps and 43 touches (32 rushing, 11 receiving).

The Packers most likely plan to use the draft to add more running back depth once Taylor leaves for San Francisco.

In 2020, Taylor was an undrafted free agent out of Memphis who was signed by the Packers. He caught 14 passes for

69 yards on 20 targets and ran the ball 65 times for 261 yards and one touchdown while playing for the Packers.

During his tenure, he participated in 276 special teams snaps and 322 offensive snaps.
